Land Justice Practitioners Gathering

As rematriation, reparations, and land justice efforts grow, the Center for Ethical Land Transition is convening practitioners — attorneys, real estate professionals, organizers, and cultural facilitators — who support reparative land transitions.

We’ll gather October 19–22 at Mount Madonna Retreat Center on Amah Mutsun land (Watsonville, CA). We will create space for connection, share stories from the field, and surface different areas of need and support. Our time will be rooted in lived experiences and a commitment to liberatory processes.

Why this gathering? Why now?

As we’ve witnessed a wave of land justice - rematriation, land-based reparations, and more - we’re also acknowledging a deep need for more justice-oriented practitioners who bring technical support rooted in solidarity and cultural affirmation.

We want to locate, network and support the attorneys, real estate practitioners, organizers, consultants, fundraisers and cultural intermediaries who are acting as agents of change as they facilitate the journey from a dominant paradigm to a liberatory paradigm.

As the Center for Ethical Land Transition has worked in the field, we have collaborated with many different kinds of practitioners who support land justice.  We feel it is time to ground ourselves and gather to create stronger networks, deepen our learnings and prepare ourselves for the growing work to come.
